Bite-sized data workshops helping an HR team on their data journey

The HR team at emh group wanted to make better use of their data to inform business decisions and consider the questions they could be asking of their data. They talked to us about running two half-day workshops.

 We suggested a different approach: running a series of one hour workshops every couple of weeks. The total workshop time would be the same but the ‘bite-sized’ approach would give the team time to apply their learning in the office before moving on to the next workshop.

 We based our workshops on the databasic.io materials which aim to promote data fluency. We ran each workshop online over Teams.

Over the weeks, the team explored the fundamentals of data collection, how to critically evaluate data visualisations, how to tell stories with data and were introduced to network analysis.
