We were commissioned by 10GM to research data and intelligence in the VCSE sector in Greater Manchester, to help them better understand the current situation, and engage the sector in exploring how data and intelligence could contribute to improving VCSE activity and services.
We supported Scotland’s law centre for children and young people, Clan Childlaw, to complete a data maturity assessment, develop a data strategy, and then take action to implement their strategy.
We carried out a comprehensive, independent review and evaluation of Worcestershire’s Lifestyle Service, and produced a concise report on the effectiveness of the current service, and recommendations for future commissioning.
We used robust evidence and a collaborative approach to develop a new data strategy and accompanying roadmap for Ambitious about Autism which helped get buy in from senior staff and increased understanding about data among staff.
Following their completion of a data maturity assessment, Data Orchard supported Blue Cross to develop their data maturity by conducting workshops with staff, reviewing their data strategy, and helping to develop a skills framework.
Data Orchard assessed the effectiveness of Hereford’s Choose How You Move programme, which aimed to promote more sustainable and active travel into and around the city.
Data Orchard supported the New Model Institute for Technology Engineering (NMITE) to articulate their intended impact and create a framework for measuring this.
Tai Calon is a housing association based in Blaenau Gwent in Wales. The organisation had set a clear ambition to radically improve customer satisfaction and wanted to ensure that its data infrastructure would support this ambition.
Mapio Cymru is our project aiming to improve the quality of mapping services in the Welsh language.
Reigate and Banstead Borough Council asked us to work with them on some deliverables within the data and insight project. In particular, they asked us to support them to develop a Data Landscape Map and a Data Improvement Plan.
We delivered a day of inhouse training on data visualisation skills to young people working with an international conservation NGO as part of their work to develop employment and training opportunities in the environment sector.
Over 15 months (from April 2020 to June 2021) we worked closely with Liverpool Lighthouse to build capacity in measuring impact and outcomes, using theory of change and evidence.
Between May and July 2021 we worked with Kent County Council to help them undertake an Organisational Data Maturity Assessment.
In 2020-21, we worked with Superhighways to assess data maturity in a cohort of organisations undertaking a data literacy and digital skills programme.
When Prostate Cancer UK embarked on a journey to improve their use of data, they kicked off development of their new data strategy with a Data Maturity Assessment.
Power to Change is on a mission to strengthen community businesses in order to tackle some of society’s biggest challenges at a local level. They asked us to help them with scoping research into the analysis and geographic spread of community businesses in England.
Our data analysis for emh Group created a baseline for positive change. We analysed and quality reviewed their equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) data, defined requirements for future data collection, and explored pay gaps in relation to EDI staff.
We worked with Data Cymru to help make databasic.io available for Welsh organisations, creating bilingual and culturally appropriate workshop materials and providing DataBasicCymru+, our facilitated training package.
We took the lead on the development and delivery of materials including focusing a data problem on the most important actions, key aspects of quantitative and qualitative analysis, and bringing together the right data to solve my problem.
We ran a series of one hour workshops every couple of weeks for our clients, emh group. This ‘bite-sized’ approach gave the team time to apply their learning in the office before moving on to the next workshop.
We took a year-long journey with YSS to articulate the impact they have in their work with vulnerable young people, solidify their theory of change, and improve their data flow and impact measurement.
We’ve worked with Epimorphics on in depth reviews of data standards, user research with local authority staff and the design of databases to cope with the reality of local public administration.
We undertook research to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the 23 voluntary and community sector organisations in the Building Better Opportunities programme in Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Telford and Wrekin.
We supported a housing association to understand where they are with data, where they want to be and how to get there.
We’re collating and sharing data about Herefordshire’s economy to help decision makers planning investments for recovery.
Joining and analysing datasets from 13 surveys conducted by 8 partners on the impact of COVID-19 on the social enterprise, community business, and cooperatives sector.
We worked with Cinderloo 1821 to help them use web mapping to bring history to life for local people.
We undertook the initial analysis of Social Enterprise UK survey data and created a template to make it easy for them to analyse future data.
What could a potential data4good community of practice look like? This research reviewed the landscape of existing national Communities of Practice in the not-for-profit sector and field of data.
We spent a transformational year with the Cart Shed helping to focus, align, and mobilise the organisation towards greater impact.
