Improving equality, diversity and inclusion data at emh Group
Client: emh group
Date: 2020
Work: Analysing EDI data
emh Group is one of the largest affordable homes and care and support services providers in East Midlands, England. In 2019, they agreed a five-year strategy to ensure equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) was part of the DNA of the business with a key focus on making data-driven service delivery decisions that reflected the needs of their residents, clients and colleagues. In early 2020 we embarked on a journey to help them do this, starting with a data stock take.
We analysed and quality reviewed three datasets holding EDI data (18,500 tenants, 1,100 staff and 14 board members). We also identified comparative EDI measures locally and nationally and defined requirements for future EDI data collection. In addition, focusing on staff data we analysed and explored pay gaps in relation to EDI characteristics.
We delivered four creative and interactive data workshops with HR staff, tenant’s teams and leaders to engage staff in improving EDI data.
