Working with Y-Lab to build capacity for Innovative Future Services
Client: Y-Lab
Date: May 2021 - July 2021
Work: Data Lab content and delivery
Y Lab is the Public Services Innovation Lab for Wales, a partnership between Cardiff University and Nesta. It has recently launched the Infuse project in partnership with Monmouthshire County Council and Cardiff University. Infuse will work with ten local authorities over three years to build capacity for innovation.
An initial “Cohort Alpha” of participants from local authorities began the programme in May 2021. We worked with the Infuse Team to contribute to curriculum development within the “Data Lab” strand.
We took the lead on the development and delivery of materials including focusing a data problem on the most important actions, key aspects of quantitative and qualitative analysis, and bringing together the right data to solve my problem.
The project will take the material that we created along with the feedback from Cohort Alpha and iterate their offer for future cohorts.
Professor James Lewis is the Academic Director & Co-Lead of Y-Lab. He said:
“Data Orchard CIC has a depth of experience in delivering workshops within public service organisations to build capacity around data. We were very pleased with the contributions they made to Cohort Alpha and the feedback from the participants was very positive”
