Jay (he/him) is an experienced teacher, trainer and facilitator. He has worked with nonprofit and public sector organisations to improve their practice of sharing data, measuring and evaluating programmes, and building data visualisation and storytelling literacy.
He focuses on helping practitioners use data at the root of their community engagement efforts. He believes that building a shared vocabulary and understanding of data alongside impacted communities enables all to co-create knowledge and inform decision making.
Jay has a Master’s in City Planning from MIT, and a BA in Economics and African and Afro-American Studies from Brandeis University. He previously conducted policy research at the Urban Institute, and served as a Senior Product Engineer at Esri.
Jay is based in the USA. In his spare time, he loves to make coffee, explore cities by foot and by bike, and to cook and eat food from around the world.
